Answer» For a year I had no problems daily playing my laptop through my television to view movies and streaming sports. Then after a year I experienced occasional problems with "No Signal." I'm using a HDM1 cable from a HP laptop with Windows 7 to a Sony LCD television. It's now gotten to the point where half the TIME I hook up the HDM1 cable to my laptop it's "No Signal."Although on the PRICEY side i would replace the cable... Or borrow a known good ONE to test...if the same thing happens then the issues is with the laptop. In addition to that which patio has SUGGESTED. If you also have a vga output on the computer and a vga input on the tv i would try that as well.Rational =it will help to isolate further the PROBABLE cause. In this instance that it is possibly being caused by the HDMI cable and/or the HDMI input on the tv or the output (HDMI) on the computer. Of course this is only to test the video as you will not get an audio transfer via the vga. If it became a possible resolution to the issue via the vga and you decided to stick with it you would have to set up separate cables for the audio output/input.truenorth
