Answer» Lately, I've been noticing a lot of SPAM showing up on the board. Is there any way we could implement some kind of Notify/Report option that will let the admin/mods know about this stuff? Furthermore, I think you should have to reach a certain title (Beginner, Hopeful, Expert, etc.) to be able to use it. It would help assure that someone is a more trusted user. And IP logging is a great idea, by the way. Perhaps a brief pop-up disclaimer could be incorporated somehow, if even possible on a YaBB.I think it's a good idea, it WORKS well on other forums built on VBulletin. I don't mind PM's about this type of abuse and if it is SPAM I'll ban the user, IP, and delete the post. The forums policy does not allow for SPAM or any type of advertising. Forums are meant for help and computer related discussions. I also try to watch the forums trash bin from MESSAGES the mods delete and handle SPAM sent there as well but sure I miss a lot there. Apart from sending a PM message the YaBB boards do not have any additional features about reporting SPAM that I'm aware of.

I was referring to the link or button that could be used to report a spam post...I agree, it should only be viewable to registered users. This is a good idea, as is the pop-up disclaimer.
Overall, I think that PM'ing a Moderator/the Admin does work, but it only goes to one person, unless you send it to all of them, but either way it could annoy them with lots of PMs suddenly arriving about the same post.

I don't mind PM's about this type of abuse and if it is SPAM I'll ban the user, IP, and delete the post. The forums policy does not allow for SPAM or any type of advertising. Forums are meant for help and computer related discussions.

I also try to watch the forums trash bin from MESSAGES the mods delete and handle SPAM sent there as well but sure I miss a lot there.

Apart from sending a PM message the YaBB boards do not have any additional features about reporting SPAM that I'm aware of.
