Solve : Normal "Format" Has Disappeared?

Answer»

I'm so COMPUTER illeterate I don't even know under which topic my question should fall so I just piced this "other" topic area. Perhaps someone can tell me what area it should fall under. At any rate, the other day on my desktop computer, I use Windows XP, I noticed that my e-mail incoming, sent, etc. had lost its normal appearance. I no LONGER had the boxes on the left to check/select specific e-mails, the font size on the e-mail incoming, sent, etc. had reduced in size, no more ability to flag or star, and in the menu I no longer have a "Reload" or "Refresh" option. Also some of the other commands one would normally have have disappeared. Not only on my e-mail, but also on my individual account in Craigslist, for those of you familiar with Craigslist, you have certain colors ASSOCIATED with your ADS, one color showing ads you have currently, another color showing those you have closed, etc. Well, even on Craigslist, the colors have all gone away. I had a person look at this problem and he thought deinstalling and reinstalling Norton might fix the problem but it did not. I also should mention that my laptop, which I have in the same area, does not have any of these same problems----it is only my desktop that is manifesting these problems. Does anyone have any thoughts on what the problem might be? Thanks so much!!Do you outlook or some other email client to view your mail or do log into a website to get your mail, if that's the case SOMETHING maybe wrong with your web browser or you may some type of virus or malware on your PC. Make sure you run a full scan using your antivirius. And try to post in the right section next time. Thanks for your reply. I just type in"yahoo mail" from google to get into my e-mail. we did run norton and that did not help. I appreciate your comments---what area would you think my problem falls into because I would like to repost to the right topic area but I still do not know what topic area is appropriate given my problem. Thanks again.
