Solve : No Signal to Monior?

Answer»

Hi there

I'm hoping that someout there will be able to help me. My sons computer was working fine yesterday, but TODAY it's on the blink. When we switch it on, th monitor just says 'no signal'. Have checked everything, (cables, all cards to make sure they have not displodged, ect) and everyhting is fine, but we still get the smae message. The monitor works when we PLUG in into another computer.
Any ideas?

Based off your testing it appears that the issue is not with your monitor, which unfortunately means the issue is likely with you video card or if your video is on the MOTHERBOARD an issue with your motherboard.

If you have two video connections, it likely means you have both an on board video card and a video card, try the other connection. I've encountered issues with users disconnecting the monitor and connecting it to the wrong connection.

If you only have one video connection and have a video card in the computer you may want to first attempt to open the computer and disconnect and reconnect the video card, in some cases the video card can become loose. If this does not work unfortunately it's likely your video card is bad and I'd suggest replacing the video card.

If you do not have a video card (video CONNECTOR on the motherboard with all other connections) unfortunately it's likely that the motherboard is bad and unfortunately it will have to be replaced.

Does the computer make the usual 'beep' sounds when starting / fans & hard drive spinning?
