Answer» The drive should open EVEN if a IDE cable is not connected and the motherboard is not aware of it's EXISTENCE. I am fairly sure of this and you should attempt it. If it does not work try another rail on your PSU or a new PSU entirely. If the issue is occurring with more than one optical drive when they are not being controlled by the MB it has to be a PSU issue.What do you mean the screen is BLACK, is then when the PC is powered on? As if it is it should be posting and you will SEE output on the screen.It's a used drive, it isn't working, but you're convinced there's nothing wrong with it ? ? |
