Answer» Hi 0x0000007b (0xf7a9263c,0x0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000Here's what that error means. Did you do something to it before it stopped booting? The filename, directory name,or volume label syntax is incorrect Quote from: SuperDave on May 03, 2014, 11:37:09 AM Here's what that error means. Did you do something to it before it stopped booting? BSOD's display bugcheck codes, not standard Windows Error Codes. So while 0x7b indicates ERROR_INVALID_NAME as a Windows Error Code, for the BSOD the code is a BugCheck code and indicates INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. This makes SENSE. Windows XP cannot be booted from an external Optical Drive because it will reinitialize the USB Host Bus while starting and lose access to it, as I recall. It would probably be useful to know what the error messages from the failed, normal boot up are though, rather than simply the BSOD trying to boot from the disc."error missing file message"'s usually indicate the file that is missing. |
