Answer» How can I get the Outlook Express icon on the launch bar by the "Start" box on the bottom left of screen?
This particular computer has the "Microsoft Outlook" icon there now and I want it gone, but don't know if I should delete it. Its also in the "Programs" column as well.
To open Outlook Express now, I have to go to "Programs" and open it.
Thanks. You could try MAKING Outlook Express the default mail handler in tools>options. If that doesn't WORK you could right click on the Outlook Express .EXE file & send a shortcut to the desktop then DRAG it down. "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"Fordtruckmaniac....Hummm ....let's see .......click on start .....then all programs ......then right click on Outlook Express .........select "send to"......then "Desktop create shortcut" Now click on the outlook express icon ..........when it opens you should get a message saying something like ......Outlook express is not currently your default mail service ....would you like to make it the default now. ANSWER yes ........ Now go and delete the Outlook icon thats there now ....leave outlook in the list of programs ........you may have to create your Email account in outlook express as well ...( use the same settings as are being used in Outlook.) I think that should do it .
dl65 I tried the suggestions and and got it.
I just left "Outlook" in "Programs".
As always, the day was saved here.
Thanks alot.
