Any help would be appreciated I've tried everything.. Every time I use my computer in general the computer freezes / lags out for a good minute.. also when I try play Starcraft 2 the game will freeze every 20 minutes or so, making progress impossible.. I believe all my drivers are up to date, temperatures all look OK, I've switched from wireless to ethernet ports, I have disabled realtek audio and switched it for a usb audio sound card thing and ran a few programmes like 'hot cpu' and none have come back with any errors etc.. I'd look into Windows Event Logs to see if the system is recording anything fishy with the Hard Drive or anything else. Also would run Memtest86 on this to rule out memory issue. I have seen some hard drives cause system to lag due to write delays etc as the drive is ready to crash completely. I'd also run a health check on the hard drive by using the free tool available at western DIGITALS website http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?lang=en

Your problems seem to be system related vs the game.Thank you for the reply and after much learning and searching, I discovered lots of errors in event viewer from 'atapi' error 11...

I have switched sata cables and swapped ports on the motherboard but still the errors keep appearing every now and then. I am assuming that this could leave only the hardware to rule out now, Is it time to invest in a new hd or motherboard?Are you running this game from a CD/DVD drive ? ?

Atapi errors point to the optical drive having issues.no.. only the cd is used for installation, afterwards this game can function without the disc.OK...what are some of the other errors ? ?Also DLoad and install SpeedFan...POST your Temps here...many freeze issues are from heat.
