hey everyone,

im in dyer need of help, i saw another POST like what i have but dont knwo if i should request there or not, so SORY.  but this is whats wrong.


starting yesterday my computer turned off without any wanring at all, i turned it back on thinking it was a game i was playing at the time, so it worked, i shut it off that night and everyhting, this morning i got back, have about 2 hours on the comp, and it shuts off, after the fans stop and everything i hear in my headphones the sound goin..bump boomf..ya know?....after that i look down at my computer..the lights are still on, even the loading light, then it restarts, and when it hits the first startup screen it restarts, and continues...i have to unplug it for about 20 minutes before i can go on it for about an hour.  i cant run any big programs, i cant burn discs, so i will lose all information if i dont get help.

reinstalling windows by upgrade doesnt help either.  i have winxp pro, all my virus scanners...(5) show no viruses.....all spyware and adaware programs say computer is clean......to the looks of it my comp is cleaner then anything, but whats going on?

last i did on the comp was playing a game...before that was surfing and making my own websites, getting ready to sell some templates...i had one virus warning when i clicked a wrong link on google...but i deleted that file, and that was a while ago...

any help would be appreciated.  this justr started happening out of the blue.  if u need a dxdiag report or something i may be able to get it.

This sounds suspiciously like a PSU problem. Have you added any new hardware lately? Is the machine overclocked? Have you cleaned out the dust bunnies lately? Is the machine stuck in a cubby hole or out in the open? Good air circulation is a must.well i just tried to go back on it, got into safe MODE........and it shuts down.  i just installed the 6600 video card no more then 2 weeks ago....but i have had no problems till now...and i think i had the same problem when i had the geforce 4 in there, but i had to WIPE the harddrive completly.  in this case i have some really needed information that i cannot lose.  but idk...i may.

just before i put in the card i cleaned it out with the air bottles u buy......dust is off the fans and everything, the case is open on one side to let cool air in, but it has one of the screens u by to make sure that it stays somewhat safe, i clean out the dust every chance i get (once every two weeks)...

true, i have checked it out , but after leaving the comp off for about an hour, it continues to shut off like it did, and its nice and cool...i felt behind it and its hot air, but ive delt with that amount of heat and had no troubles before.  i doubt its the heating issue.  but im going to go ahead and open it up...clean...and put an air conditioner right on it..if it stays on for a while with that cold air..then i get a better cooling system.

besides that though, any ideas as to anything else at all?  cause i would really hate to have the hard drive like ried within a week, when i thought it was my cooling system u know.the reason i cant go in and report it is because it wont let me, so thats the only way i can think of even getting onto the system long enough to check...riverside....and why did u delete the anti virusd things..and all your other posts

so far i need to check my cooling system.....and i need to get on there for as long as possible to get those antivirus programs and hijack ths.searching the net?, maby for pictures, thats all i myself use the net for.....i do have another account for my friend wich comes over every so often, u think the problem is there?Maybe the poster has advanced supervisory staff helping our loyal employees course    who knowshuh?? lolsolved? serious or messin with me??, was it the heating, are u sure...
