Solve : Need help with Word 95....?

Answer»

I have two questions I need help with on Word 95;

1.  Since I recently formatted my Dell P200/Win98se, my docs now seem to have become "read only" files and I can't make any changes on them (i.e.  updating my resume).  How did I do that, and how do I undo that?

2.  Win98 or Word95 always defaults to a checkered red underline below printed website addresses and email addresses.  Then when I try to CUT and PASTE to a Word95 document, they print out as ERROR, BOOKMARK NOT DEFINED.  I know this has something to do with bookmarks, hyperlinks, or macros, but I'm unable to correct so these items will actually carry over to the page I'm printing.

Thanks for any help.

1.  In Windows Explorer, select all files, then right-click properties, then unckeck Read Only.

2.  Right-click underlined text, then select Remove Hyperlink.
Thanks, but am still having problems with the email addresses or web sites transferring to a printed Word95 document.  I think this has something to do with Field Codes, but I can't seem to figure out how to permanently change the code (or even FIND them).  When I right click,  "Toggle Field" it will change from "Error, bookmark not defined" to the actual email or website address.  But neither way will this info still print from a saved Word Doc.

Any thoughts, since I've always been FORCED to hand write all of these fields in order to retain them.Are you copying and pasting from INTERNET Explorer to Word?   If yes, instead of Paste, select Paste Special (I think that feature is in Word 95, but not sure).  Then select Unformatted Text.
