Solve : Need advice on buying an LCD monitor.?

Answer»

Hey folks, 2nd post on the forums here for me.  Impressed with the fast replies my first topic already got.  I was looking into buying a new gaming PC and I have (probably) settled on http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227146

Well, now my question is, how do I go about getting a monitor to compliment it?  I still have a boxy, 15" contraption taking up half my computer DESK at the moment, I need something to bring out the "goodness" in that new computer.  I know absolutely nothing about LCD monitors, and from what little I've read, it SEEMS the specs can be deceiving, or outright marketing gimmicks that might be true on paper but really don't hold up in actual performance.

Not looking to spend much on a monitor, I don't need a massive display, just something that performs well for games and movies.  I can deal with an inability to swivel every which WAY.  I just browsed CNET a BIT, watching their reviews and came up with

$129.99

$139.99

Any ADVICE would be much appreciated, no sense in buying a new computer if I can't enjoy some of its razzmatazz.Acer Monitors are well built and competively priced...
