Answer» i have done tests on the INTERNET and they say i have a NAT problem or that im behind a router when im not the computer (the only one in the HOUSE) is CONNECTED directly to the DSL modem.
I disabled the XP firewall and the antivirus and then RESTARTED and re-ran the tests yet it still says the samething.
I also ran a firewall test at www.auditmypc.com (with the firewall turned off) and it still couldn't find any open ports.
so could u tell what could be causing this and how to fix it?
.is there anything that i can do as far as port forwarding?what router is used?>.http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/N101145.aspmy DSL modem is a westell 2200more info here>>http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/newtothis.htm#MultiIPthanxmore info here>>http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/deploy/nattrnsv.mspx
> In some cases, a user with a dial-up modem connection to the Internet will have no issues with these experiences while using the dial up modem. Then, when the user signs up for broadband service and begins using a DSL or cable modem device with NAT, the problems occurthanx that filled in alot of questions and my Conclusion is that NAT sucks
