Solve : My computer can't start a program?

Answer»

I have had this problem for several months.

My computer is Dell Dimension 3000, WinXP, Pentium 4 (I plan to get a Win7 or WIN8 soon!)

Whenever I click an icon to start a program, I get nothing! I try to restart the computer, but I don't get a restart button. I have to yank the cord from my computer.

Do any of you have a solution?

Just hold your start button until it shuts down.Did you try right-clicking on the icon and selecting Run?

Please download  SREng

  •   Extract it to Desktop and double click SREngLdr.EXE to run it
  •   Select SYSTEM Repair from the left PANE.
  • Click on File  Association
  • Select all entries that has an Error  status click [Repair]
  • Refer to this image for an  example:

  •   In your case, it would be .EXE
  • Close SREng now.
.  I tried to OPEN it from your link, and all I got was a Page Load Error message.

I tried to download it from CNET, but upon loading the computer froze up twice.

  Any help?

BrianYou should be redirect to a new page in 15 seconds. Click on the download button and select System Repair Engineer, second on from the TOP. You may have to download it on another computer. I did, and everything was normal. I hope that this remains the case until I get my Win7/8 computer.
