Answer» Currently when a post has been moved, it is noted that the post was moved on the board listings:
ex: MOVED: Fn keys in CMD.EXE
However you have to open the thread to find the link to the new location. How difficult would it be to make the notification itself the redirected link?
This never seemed to be a ISSUE, but lately posts are being relocated with increasing frequency.
So instead of clicking the topic title and then the link inside, just click the topic title?sounds good maybe a button next to it called
Redirect to moved thread?
What if an admin has to get BACK to that thread?Actually...just moving the thread...without leaving a redirect, would be the simplest solution...IMHO.
If someone is looking for a thread they started...and it was moved...it should still be listed within their Profile Summary Stats. The actual thread is not deleted...just moved.
Of course, someone who bookmarks their original thread may be shocked when it is no longer there, but still...it can be FOUND...all they have to do is look for their most recent posts within their own profile(s).If you link to a thread that has been moved, you will be redirected to the moved topic.Well then...there ya go!Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on August 09, 2008, 05:32:55 AM So instead of clicking the topic title and then the link inside, just click the topic title?
Precisely. Don't really need a button, the topic title can act as the redirect.

Seems counterproductive. How many people CHECK their Profile Summary Stats? How many even know where to find their Profile Summary Stats?
It seemed that if the program can add Moved: to the topic title, it could easily recreate the new title as a link to the new location instead of embedding it in the thread.
Just a thought. I agree with Sidewinder on this..Quote from: Broni on August 09, 2008, 06:38:15 PMI agree with Sidewinder on this..

Much simpler than my Idea.
