Solve : monitor will not power on after stand by?

Answer»

running xp sp 2.
stand by works, but then the monitor will not power back on.
if I hibernate  it works ok?

Check your power management in bios.I modified it.
ACPI = enabled
ACPI suspend = to S3  (default is S1)
Power MGT = User defined
 HDD power down = disabled
Suspend Mode = disabled
Video OFF option SUSPEND -> off
Video off method = DPMS support.
Run vgabios if s3 RESUMED = enabled
PWR lost resume state = last state

which on could be messing up the monitor/agp card from waking up?

monitor is plug and play Princeton VF912
card is radeon 9200 SE  128 mb video ramWhen I press the power button on my computer list, select Standby and press OK........check the power options in the control panel........the power icon.?computer goes into standby (S3 mode). all power shut down.

icon shows standby.

the monitor refuses to start up, but the computer does.
the light stays orange rather than turning green.
when I press the monitor on/off button, it turns on, but it says NO SIGNAL.

I wonder if it's the graphics card not turning on?

also I have to power off the computer to restart. soft boot doesnt workMaybe you can TRY this, when you get to the BIOS, TURN anythinks that related to power manger off. Then when your PC boots up, GO to the Windows power manger(not the same as the BIOS power manger) and then turn everything off as well. Then reboot your PC.

BTW, does your video card  came with you PC pre-installed or is it a third party video card you installed youself?everything in this pc I bought and installed.
