i have p4, 512 ram, dvd DRIVE + cd rom drive, xp pro, computer,when i start computer their are no beeps at all, keyboard is dead,monitor WONT switch on ,cd drive light stays on but door wont open, harddrive light stays on and reset button wont work. can anyone help?please.ground yourself real good
open it up, check all your connections, look closely at your heatsink/fan on the cpu...make sure its all secure on the socket
try (small wires) and see that all your case wires are attached to the clear small pins on your motherboard...
dumb but- make sure all your cords are plugged in TIGHT after checking inside.
if problem is still there, sounds like your power supplythanks honvetops,
thanks for your help,CHECKED all wires and cables like you SAID but problem still exists, even though power supply seems to be working ie.fan is spinning and power and harddrive lights on, i think you are right about power supply being faulty,i will replace it and see what happens. cheers!wouldn't hurt if you can * borrow someones and check that out before buying IF you think it could be something we are over looking ?
