Answer» My mom's computer (HP Pavillon) running Windows ME, doesn't have a mouse pointer on start up. This is further complicated by a message a message from McAfee that she hasn't updated for 3 days, that I can't get beyond with no mouse pointer. McAfee is provided by her internet provider -- Comcast. She's looking to me for help, but I don't KNOW how to solve this. Can anyone help me?Can you TRY booting into Safe ModeBorrow and try a PS2 keyboard...their plugs GO Here...LAST TIME, I checked, a keyboard doesn't produce any pointer.....LOLOOoops....mouse.I was going to say something, but I thought...he'll catch it...won't he?
