Answer» I seem to have lost all icons on my desktop. Also, I can't access the start menu to get to the control panel. Only way to get a few programs RUNNING is by hitting ctrl alt delete. What do I do? Can't access any of my FILES or folders. I have win 98 on my computer. ctrl-alt-del --> CLICK applications--> new task --> explorer.exe see how that goesThat doesn't work either. It tells me it can't find that file and to make sure that I've spelled it correctly (which I have). I've also tried browsing INSTEAD of TYPING it in, but I get the same result by clicking the explorer icon in the windows file.run a virus scan, ad/spyware search etc, restart your computer and then do another virus/spy/adare scan then restart again tell me if this works
