Hi guys My mom hasn't been connected to the internet for a few years and she and my sister were doing something to the printer and now her icons are missing i can find them but when i tried to COPY them and paste them to the desktop they were copying in the desktop folder not on to the desktop at all i've solved that ISSUE but now I'm having intermittent start up issues it SEEMS that I have to turn it on and off a few times to get it to start booting up I'm going to check the ram and all that and I hear no beeps at all win xp sp2 just did all the updates for windows but it was doing this before i did them. I have to go out and buy a can of COMPRESSED air to blow some of the dust out and go from there. it's a compaq presario sr1603wm Upgrade your system to SP3 and make a complete installation. Without any Updates from Security softwares or Drivers especially having outside access to other media storage such as a flashdrive is vulnerable to being infected.or FIRST, before upgrading, did u right click on the desktop and click on Show Desktop icons? That might be it. just try that first if u didnt.
