Answer» hello to all im the newest newbie ever ,and i wrote a LONG post out there and i dont know what happened to it, so i will keep this short. i am running misrosoft windows xp,home edition,version,2000, service pack 3, pakard bell computer,amd athlon(tm)processor.1.30GHz,112mb of ram and it is old "i know" but it will do me to learn on. i have recently downloded (mse) and every time i try to update it, it fails. i also have an ISSUE with the cpu, and virtual mem, i know it is all going to take time ,and if you guy's in here dont mind a slow newbie then that is just great and i will be very thankful for any help i can get. cheers! pchopeless Quote ,112mb of ram Is there a way to add to this on that machine ? ?hi there patio,and thankyou for you5'r reply i have been looking into the( ram ) i watched a help video and it looks easy enough to upgrade if i can do it on this computer, and if that is something i should look into. as i am just learning about the computing world i dont have the printer up and running yet, and i only found the product key numbers for the MICROSOFT word ,so i have got to practice copy ,cut paste, i thought i would just type that information in so people can see just how far i have got , but hey they say practice makes perfect i also have the windows task manager open, and under the performance tab, in the cpu usage square it reads=0% in the PF usage it reads=341MB then there are 4 squares below this TOTALS Handels-------------------6766. You are running under the bare minimum amount of RAM for XP... This is where your problems lie.is the reason for the mse update failure (MSE)COULD not complete the virus and spyware defenitions on20/02/2011 due to an internet or network connectivity issue. can anyone explain what this means cheers pchopeless.
