I have a TOSHIBA Pro Satellite A40. I dont know if it has an internal mic or not and if so it doesnt work! Also i bought an external SONG mic for talking on msn/skype etc... i plug it into the microphone socket (next the headphone socket) and it doesnt work. I open audio in msn and it wont find no mic.
I am using SoundMax. I have opened up sound and made SURE mic is SELECTED in audio/recording control... and the volume is fully up. However the balance bar is GREYED out which makes me think its not working?
Can anyone please help me and suggest where i start to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.Re-install the audio drivers from the Toshiba Driver CD that came with the machine...
If you no longer have it then grab the latest ones from their website.
