Solve : Memory stick help? |
|
Answer» HI everyone, I am wondering if anyone can help me with this problem I have with my USB memory stick. When I insert the memory stick into any COMPUTER or laptop, the computer APPEARS to recognise it (an icon appears in the "My Computer" folder). However, when I click on the memory sticks icon it will not let me open the folder and therefore any of the files on the memory stick. It give the message: "Please insert a disk into drive ...". Any ideas on what has happened and if/how I can go about fixing the problem and ultimately retreiving the files on the memory stick would be gratefully received. Thanks for you help. Purpleclaire! What operating system?Hi Sorry for LATE reply. I'm using Windows XP professional. thanks for your replySome stiks have a small microswitch on them to lock them...see if this is the case. If not with the stick PLUGGED in right click My Computer and select manage...then choose Disk Management. How is the stick being reported there ? ? You can right click the listing there and select Properties for more details...When asked for a disk might mean you need drivers which sometimes come on a disk. A guess. I have had that same experience. Good luck! BertHe hasn't been back in over a Month... |
