Answer» Wonder why my SOUND SUDDENLY does not work...Windows 98...perhaps my 14 YO grandson clicked on something he should not have...Check if none of the sound channels are muted? CLICK on the sound speaker ICON in the taskbar. Check all audio applications; Win Media Player, Roxio, Nero, etc. One can sometimes affect others, it has on my xp machine. Oh yeah, see if you can check the settings in his games, another possibility. BTW, it was roxio that over-rode the destop settings.
