Answer» my ENV. - Window 10 Pro - ver. 1607 - build 14393.187
I have been connecting to Teradata under VMWare (Linux) for SEVERAL years using IP - 192.168.74.128.
As of today following a series of Windows updates I am no longer able to connect / ping to this IP from Windows.
I can start the VMplayer on Windows , logon to the Unix machine and ping this IP so the issue appears to be on the Windows side.
Not sure what changed but obviously SOMETHING has.......
Following is the output of IPCONFIG /ALL on Windows and the output of ifconfig on the Linux side.
Does anyone have an idea how I can restore the IP / what to change and how ?
At a complete loss with this .... thanks Brian

Might need an exception added and firewall shut off and it works would point to a firewall exception needed. Why this would change after an update not sure, but its a possible cause for this. Also to try would be to run IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS from command shell to dump the DNS cache although pinging direct by IP it shouldnt be a DNS issue but only takes a few seconds to try.
Quote The server at 192.168.74.128 is taking too long to respond.
Don't use that address. Current PRACTICE is for users to get to a site by name. But if you have a real reason to use that address, you would not be here asking the question. Only authorized persons can use that address, if it is in use.
Are you on a comps? A military base? A isolated boniness group?
The forum can not help you into sires blocked from the general public.
The IP might be a Navy ship in the Atlantic. Can't say.
HuHH ? ?
