Solve : Linux/Windows data recovery?

Answer»

Hi,

I recently installed Debian Linux over a drive that contained a Windows 2000 system. Is there any way to recover the Windows DATA?

I know there are programs out there that can attempt to "undelete" FORMATTED drives, but I'm only aware of those that stay within the same operating system.

Thanks!Do you have any other operating systems installed on the COMPUTER?
You might want to check out www.e-fense.com/helix. Helix is a computer forensics/data recovery linux distro and is supposed to have tools to recover files and partitions. I know the windows side does, but haven't done much testing with the linux side.Hi, thanks for the reply.

Right now it's only Debian. Before, it had Red HAT Linux and Windows 2000 on one PARTITIONED drive; it's the files from the Windows that I want to recover.
