Solve : laptop on..black screen? |

Answer» Solo 2500. worked when I put it away 6 months ago. Got it out. Dead batteries naturally. Power indicator comes on, but screen stays black. What up?jnspaid: Where was it stored? Nowhere that is hot I hope... Computers and their components need to be be stored in a clean, dry, and climate controlled area... It has been stored in a heated basement over the fall, winter and spring months. It hasn't been exposed to any extremes.And I'm guessing and hoping that this basement was not wet... It was clean... The computer was not exposed to DIRECT sunlight... [glb]Flame[/glb]true.how old is this laptop.??.......is the battery fully charged?/was it stored on its end........not flat?6 years old. Batteries went dead but RECHARGED immediately. Stored, in it's case, upright..not flat.JN: Have you tried a new battery? (I don't mean did you recharge the old but did you replace it with a brand new one? Also, have you checked inside the case for "critters"? Seriously, i had a PC with a floppy disk drive that refused to work till a large moth flew out from under the FDD controller when i was blowing dust out of the case with a can of compressed air. I then powered the system up and the drive worked fine! (somehow that bug must have created a short circuit). I believe the first super computer had a moth that KEPT it from working properly, which is where the term "computer bug" originated.
