Solve : Laptop Monitors In Sunlight?

Answer»

I knew my Notebook wasn't going to make it out-of doors, back after I bought it in 1999, when outside sun light WOULD come in through the window.

However, now that the market got churned up for the portable models,

Our friends the manufacturers have suddenly come out with all kinds of magazines and TV ADVERTISEMENTS, letting the general public know that your office can be the park BENCH or your outdoor patio!

I would like to know not only how good these are for viewing in the sunlight
but how do they ACTUALLY work ?

Anyone up for answers ?

Due to lack of personal experiance I cannot say for CERTAIN, but provided you avoid direct sunglare the monitor should work fine, I think.

"but how do they actually work ?"  :-? Do you mean how do monitors work?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_displayThey're OK in sunlight, but the glossy models are worse than standard screen notebooks in strong light, as they reflect it more.
I have a glossy screen, and I find the colours and everything to be very rich and detailed, but strong light can be a problem.
In strong light, you can turn the brightness up to overcome it, but this will have an impact on battery life.
Hope this helps.Thank you, Yes, on how the monitor works ? , . .what I was after, was what I thought, . .it takes battery power to turn up the brightness to counter the sun lights dimming glare.
