I currently own a MacBook PRO and am running windows parallels in order to do my classwork. However, I am interested in purchasing a PC for school work only. I do not need any extras on the laptop. Just something that is cheap and can RUN MS Office 2010. The majority of the computers that I am finding on amazon come with windows 8. Is it even possible to purchase a new computer with windows 7?

Below are the requirements I am interested in;
Windows 7
MS Office 2010 (mainly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)

I would like to purchase the laptop from amazon if possible since I am a Amazon Prime MEMBER. Does Toshiba make a reliable laptop? It looks like it meets the requirements for what I am looking for. Any suggestions?That laptop isn't bad but do you plan on carrying this around to college.etc?  In that case I would look for something a lot smaller - Around the 12-13" mark - 15.4" is quite BULKY for a primarily portable machine.

As far as Windows goes - If you only look for Windows 7 you are severely limiting yourself to a smaller selection of often older models, Windows 8 is great once you get used to it and besides, if all you are doing is using Office, you'll hardly be using any of the Windows 8 stuff.

I'd personally get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaPad-14-0-Inch-Touchscreen-Laptop/dp/B00DZIY88E/ref=sr_1_68?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1389263203&sr=1-68&keywords=ultrabook.  It's smaller and lighter for carrying around but the screen is the same resolution as on the Toshiba, this means that you will not lose any screen space.  The CPU is also an ULV (Ultra LOW Voltage) model which is slightly less powerful (But you aren't really doing anything power hungry on it), this will however greatly improve the battery life.
