Solve : Keyboard Response?

A couple of times a month I'll be typing away and suddenly notice that the characters I'm depressing on the keyboard are not the characters appearing on the monitor. It stays that way until I reboot. Does anyone have a clue as to what goes on here?

Thanks in advance...1. CHECK to see that the keyboard is connected securely to your PC.

2. Scan for viruses.

3. Give the keyboard a quick cleaning.
