Solve : Kaspersky faster than MSE?? |
|
Answer» I installed a 30 day trial of Kaspersky AV 2015. Not sure if it is my imagination, but my old rig seems like it is loading internet pages (ESPECIALLY Yahoo news articles) much faster than with MS Essentials. Is that possible? The protection app you have installed has zero effect on web speeds or page loads...I believe protection apps can have some affect on web browser performance, although the affect is usually slight enough to be barely noticeable. For example, I have avast Free Antivirus installed on my laptop. The Web Shield FEATURE (if enabled) in avast adds an icon to the top of the browser; if that icon is clicked on, a panel appears saying “this site is safe” and listing several specific points of criteria. Or, if avast detects a site it has determined to be unsafe, it will block the web page from loading and display an alert. Clearly, such monitoring of web browsing activity requires a bit of processing of DATA before a web page is allowed to load and, therefore, could have a slight impact on perceived web page loading speed. I understand what your sayin...however he stated things were faster...as opposed to slower which is what you alluded to...therefore it makes no sense.... Patio, I am assuming both Kaspersky AV 2015 and MS Essentials slow down my PC to some extent. I was asking about the relative effect of MSE vs Kaspersky. He is comparing two different antivirus products and asking about differences in impact on performance, which is the point I commented on. Ahhhh...thanx for the clarification Soybean..... I do run MSE and don't notice affect performance much at all... That being ststaed i rarely am using the PC when i run my scans...that goes back to the oldie goldie days of computing...Habit... |
