Solve : Karen Kenworthy - Free PC Power Tools may be disappearing from the web?

Answer»

I heard a rumor today from a friend that since the passing of Karen Kenworthy on 4/12, that her brother is keeping her website running, but that it will likely be shutting down in the NEAR future. I have been saddened by the news of her passing as for first of all I can't believe I didn't HEAR of this sooner and that I enjoyed trying out the programs and power tools she had available free for home users.

One tool of which is called Registry Pruner helped me fix a serious issue with a new ( back in 2001 ) HP Pavilion that claimed it had ROXIO 4 installed when trying to install Roxio 5 Easy CD Creator when I upgraded to a DVD/CD-RW drive and attempted to install the  bundled Roxio 5 software that came with the Sony drive. Windows did not show any Roxio 4 installed when looking in add/remove programs. HP sold the Pavilion with orphaned registry ENTRIES from factory. Her Registry Pruner detected the orphaned registry entries for Version 4 and allowed for me to quickly remove them so I could install version 5.

If you haven't checked out Karen's tools and are interested in adding some of her tools to your collection of PC Power Tools, time may be running out to download them. Her website is located here: http://www.karenware.com/powertools.asp

R.I.P Karen ... Thank You for a free solution to my HP madness & You will be missedA lot of the tools provided  there have much better equivalents in the SysInternals SUITE.
