Answer»

RAM is an important item in computer preformance. What do you think is better?

32+32 =64
64+64=128

or
64
128

n you opinion does adding 1 slot of RAM is better then adding 2 slots of RAM to equal one?

Do you think there is a preformace diffrence and what would you recomend:

*Personal Note* I own old computers so When I do the PLAYING around with Rams I don't see a diffrence so I want to hear from all of you =)

oops! =) fixed itWith elderly pc's maybe it's not the amount of RAM AVAILABLE in any form but the speed of the processor.  Check how the processors are doing with each RAM configuration, then if possible change the processors and have another look.

I also run elderly pc's.the key to ram is to have them in pairs of the same size and make.. ..info>>http://www.kingston.com/tools/assessor/win98.aspThe more the merrier.

All my PC's are "old".  RAM configuration is not important.  Total amount of RAM is important.  "Faster" RAM is not faster, RAM only operates at the fastest speed allowed by the Front SIDE Bus.  PC133 memory will operate at PC100 speed in a 100MHz FSB, and will operate at PC66 speed in a 66MHz FSB.  Not all PC133 memory MODULES are able to operate at 133, 100, and 66MHz.

Win98 - 64MB is more than adequate.  With any more, you will notice very little difference.
Win2k - requires at least 128MB, more is noticeably faster.  Any less, computer is very slow.
WinXP - 160MB works quite well, but, more is better.

If any of the main memory is shared by the video, that must be accounted for in the totals.
