Answer» In my broadband status window, in the activity section, where it says, Bytes, Compression And Errors, what does it mean if you have errors? Why? Are you experiencing errors? What software are you using? Is there any noticeable problem with your internet connection? It could mean that a packet had to be FRAGMENTED (split up), there was a disconnect or a collision.
Look at the documentation or help page of the program you're using if you are curious as to what it is measuring. Its like this: -
Sent Recieved
Bytes 3,155, 366 35,710, 530
Compression 0% 0%
Errors 0 1
Thats what it looks like right now, there are no noticable errors rly, just wondering why they might happen...Errors means that one or more packets didn't REACH their destination. This is not unusual and can happen for any number of reasons. The packet can have been refused on the RECEIVING end for example or can have been lost along the WAY. If you see a lot of errors it can be an indication of a problem, but it doesn't sound like that's the CASE.
