I was wondering if there is a feature LIKE snapshot on windows XP so that i can retrieve BACK a copy of my document.
I had a situation in which i accidentally overwrote an excel document. I opened up an excel document and made some changes and was then supposed to save it as a different document but by accident, clicked on save button. As a result of that, i lost the original doc. pretty frustrated at a TIME. So i don't want something like this to happen again in the future.
I'm sure that UNIX does PROVIDE snapshot capabilities but don't know with windows.

I believe there is a setting in some versions of Microsoft Excel to always make a backup copy automatically.

http://www.amset.info/tips/office-recovery.aspIf you are using the Excel Backup Assistant it should have made a backup copy automatically. Look for the file extension .XLK
