Solve : Is the PC better that the Apple?? |
|
Answer» Here we go again.. But there have been many new developments both in the Max world and the Windows world. So are PCs now better? Has the Mac been dragging? How I miss the old days ... I knew where I stood. For everything Windows, and against everything Mac. Of course the world has changed and things these days are much more nuanced. In a world with iPhones, iPads and all the other smartphones and tablets, our reliance on Macs and Windows PCs has reduced. And this makes the differences seem less key. ...Really? That was a poor video. What do you think? Why are you even giving this the time of day? It's sad to see a good resource like PC Advisor sharing such junk. People just need to learn that there is no correct answer to this question - It all comes down to what the individual needs and prefers. For example, I would generally use Linux or Mac OS as I find that I can be more productive on a Linux/UNIX system than I am on a Windows machine. Does that mean that Linux or Mac OS is better than Windows? NO! It means that I prefer it or that it works best for me. People seem to just pick sides based on what their friends say. I have heard so many people saying "Macs suck" yet when I ask why they either say that "My friend said they suck" or make up some nonsense argument such as them not being upgradeable or the famous "Macs are more expensive than PCs". People just need to drop this topic and let people use what they want - There is no "best" platform. So I thought that Mac Wworld UK would be a good source and it was only a case of my weakness to understand what they were saying. So I posted it. But After the third time, I realized they were talking gibberish. Was it a spoof? Accurate Being serious though, the only gripe I have against Apple is the pricing. I game a lot so running Mac OSX is not a viable option for me. With Adobe suites now holding a large market stake in design work there is no real need for one or the other as both Windows and OSX share the same suite. With the implementation of SteamOS, Linux gaming is starting to take a huge leap forward and gain some considerable traction. The main downside for PC to me is the range of hardware available. For Mac machines, consoles, etc it is easier for the developers to create an application or game knowing that it will run because the hardware is very similar or identical ACROSS machines. Imho Apple has created a state of 'eliteness' with their products that is undeserved, and has simply been a result of very aggressive marketing. That image explains it perfectly! That's exactly my issue - People see using/owning Apple products as some sort of special club. Back when I was in school I used to use a Lenovo ThinkPad L512 - People never really took notice other thank thinking it was some ancient machine from the '90s. I then replaced that with a 13" MacBook Pro and straight away I would get people who I never really spoke to coming up saying "wow, you have a Mac, that's so cool" and wanting to use it - It was mental. Of course I wasn't one of those people that embraced this, I found it more annoying than anything else. The machine itself is nice, but nothing special IMO - Later got another ThinkPad (T440s) to use as my primary laptop due to severely missing my beloved TRACKPOINT . The word "fanboi" sums up the juvenile nature of this kind of stupid brand enthusiasm. They are both speaking with noticeable south east English "estuary" accents; this is something that many Brits themselves dislike. It's a hybrid of middle-class and Cockney. Jamie Oliver uses it. Imagine a New England Ivy LEAGUER putting on a Bronx accent to SOUND "down with da kidz". Or vice-versa. |
