Solve : Is it time to upgrade to Windows 10 yet??

Answer»

Awhile back, my daughter received a message from Microsoft about upgrading to Windows 10 - she had Windows 7 Home version on her laptop. She did the upgrade and there were problems (don't remember what they were) so we reverted back to Windows 7.

I built my current computer:
Windows 7 PROFESSIONAL  64-bit
Intel i5-4570 CPU
8 GB RAM
Crucial 120GB SSD - boot drive
WD Caviar Black 1.5TB - HD
NVidia GeForce GTX 660 display adapter

I left it on and when I when I came back a couple hours later, I found that Microsoft had started to change my OS over to Windows 10 without my permission (it was probably a message GIVING me a certain time to OPT out before the install). So I declined the agreement and it took a few minutes to bring my PC back to Windows 7 Pro.

Has Windows 10 been on the market long enough for a lot of the bugs to be ironed out? Should I be fearful of making the change? I like my PC's performance now. What are the main changes I should be expecting as far as day-to-day use goes? Are there advantages of Windows 7 vs Windows 10?You have until July/16 to upgrade with no charge. Windows 7 support runs out in 2020. You should try upgrading and work with it for a while to see if you like it. I upgraded my tablet to Win 10 and it's almost like Windows 7 with more features. Thanks for that.My computer ALSO downloaded 10 with no input from me, however I kept it and am now having password problems, I suggest you wait a while longer.Grounded, try this. You didn't mention what kind of problems you're having with the password.
