Answer» For some reason, IPCONFIG command doesn't work. I tried GOING in system32 and opening ipconfig.exe. It opens and closes almost IMMEDIATELY. I really need to change my IP for certain reasons such as my friend finding out my ip, which makes me uncomfortable. Why won't ipconfig work? CMD shows: 'ipconfig' is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program, or batch file. same with 'ipconfig /all' is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program, or batch file. my computer stats are: WINDOWS Vista Home Premium Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2140 @1.60 GHZ 3 GB Ram NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS I used a real disc to install the computer. Open a command prompt as admin and try running the command from there.Just checking....are you putting a space between ipconfig and the /switch ? ?yes and thanks allan it worked
