Solve : installing Java RunTime Version 6 Update 24 error?

hi
i cant install Java RunTime Version 6 Update 24 on windows XP PRO SP3
when i RUN setup its installation wizard pop up when i click install it, the wizard disappears and nothing HAPPENED and it wont CONTINUE installing.
i checked EVENT VIEWER. this error was logged

"Faulting application jre-6u24-windows-i586.exe, version 6.0.240.7, faulting module msctf.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x00016c86."

please HELP meTravel back to the Java site and DLoad and run the Flash uninstaller...
Re-boot...DLoad a fresh version and install it.Flash uninstaller???
i downloaded adope flash player uninstaller and run it rebooted PC and  installed Java Runtime again. nothing happened.
there were not a the flash uninstaller in java site.
if there is it i couldnt find it. please give a download link.
this way seemed didnt work

Java isn't even mentioned in that article.   So, why cite it?  Also, I'm guessing patio INTENDED to say get the Java uninstaller, not the Flash uninstaller.

Yes it was not.

i had uninstalled older version(version6 update 13) before. there is no installed version on my PC
i couldn't find any uninstaller app in java site. but i found in google "JAvaRa"and used it.
i still have my problem.Here is an idea. Try renaming msctf.dll to something else you will remember. Do this in both C:\Windows\system32\dllcache and system32. Run the installer. Does it work now? If not, name them back.
