Answer» With the multitude of free UTILITY downloads available on the web, from registry CLEANERS to photo editors and all things in between, let's do a survey. What's the best freeware utility you have seen? Not including virus guards and firewalls (they get enough attention), but other stuff that's 1) easy to use, 2) works like a charm and, 3) performs a useful FUNCTION that no one should be without. I'm sure a lot of newbies and seasoned users alike would be interested in knowing what others have discovered out there!'Paint Shop Pro' would have to be an all time favourite and that's from someone who's not into graphics. The following website is full of useful utilities:
http://www.sysinternals.com/. Something for everyone!
From that website, I use the following utilities:
ProcessExplorer Bginfo Diskview RootkitRevealer PageDefrag
Definitely worth checking out.
I like to use Irfanview when editing photos. I do not do any professional work, only resizing, renaming and occasionally adjusting quality.
Other than that I use Zone Alarm, AVG Free and Adaware SE (For the moment, until FED notifies me of a Spybot S&D update!)
I also use *Blocked Russian URL*/atitray/]ATI Tray Tools[/url][/u] on the gamer computer.
I also use Pagedefrag on the gamer computer.
