Answer» What happens if, the moment you turn on the computer, you keep tapping F8.uhm the blue screen thing with some options appear..
i tried to work with it, but no change. dunno what to do about it.....What options...?the headers says its "WINDOWS Advance Options Menu"
the options are:
*safe mode *safe mode with networking *safe mode with command prompt
*enable boot logging *enable VgA mode *last known good configuration *directory services restore mode *debugging mode
*run windows normally *reoobt *return to OS choices menu
but whatever options i choose
it just leads me to SAFE MODE..
is there anything we can do about this?
or does this now require help from a comp tech? When you choose Safe Mode on that menu, does the problem still continue?yah. stuck T_TDo you have the Windows XP CD?
If so, you MIGHT want to try a Repair Install. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htmgotta try it..hope this aint illegal but sorry..
"YAY! I think I've found a way out of this mess! I rebooted from the CD and into the recovery console. I thought I'd see what I could do with the bootcfg command, and voila! I used the command bootcfg /list to see what was in my bootcfg, and copied the information down. Then I entered the command bootcfg /rebuild and reentered the needed info. If you've never done this, and I had not, first you select the windows installation to use and enter the corresponding number (default is "1"); then it asks you to enter the LOAD identified. I typed in "Microsoft Windows XP Professional", without the QUOTES. Lastly, it prompted for the OS load options. Here I typed in "fastdetect /noexecute=optin", again without quotes. I exited the console, windows restarted, and setup continued normally! Thanks for providing this forum... hope this helps anyone else who gets caught in the same mess! " by saslab
