Solve : incoming mail server?

I am trying to send an e-mail from a site and now the internet connection wizard is asking questions=
1-name , which i typed in
2- e-mail servers name, then giving 3 CHOICES of , my incoming mail server is a= pop3
b=IMAP
c=HTTP3
dont know which one to do ?
3- then a blank box ................................ for incoming mail and then one of the above 3 i must type ??
4- then another blank box................. and SMTP for outgoing mail,?
what is all this,
this is not a computer i have USED often, so have been checking if its worth SAVING or not.
I ALSO have tons of other questions which i will postWhat software are you using for the mail? (OUTLOOK, Windows Mail etc.)
And what email provider are you using? (Hotmail, Gmail etc.)What do you mean by:
