Solve : in need of help asap?

Answer»

Recently, I whole bunch of junk downloaded onto my computer [home search assistent, porn in my bookmarks, quickwebsearch, etc.]. I don't know how it got on my computer since I usually use Mozilla Firefox. I tried FIXING it manually but its just too much. Therefore, I'm just going to do a system recovery to wipe out everything. Now, I put everything I need in one folder and tried to compress it with WINRAR so I could upload it somewhere and then get it back once the system recovery is finished. Unfortunately, the folder is over 3gb's of items. What should I do? I don't have a DVD burner so that wouldn't work. My webhoster only allows 10 mb's of material to upload. Please put your input on what I should do!Virus scanners

Have a techie friend purchase a used 4 GB hard DRIVE and install it in your computer as a slave hard drive.  Save your backup to there.

You may even purchase a USB hard drive enclosure case for about $60.00 (USD) and connect the used hard drive to your computer through the USB port on your computer.  You may be able to do this yourself without asking someone for help.

Alternately, for a few more bucks, you may just purchase an EXTERNAL hard drive and connect it to your computer's USB port and save your backup there.

Best regards,

Internet + Download + Windows = Disaster again!

In the future you may want to consider spyware/adware proptection, antivirus (You didn't mention if you were using any kind of protection, so I am assuming not), etc. protection.

Backing up on a small hard drive, even one that you could borrow for a little bit, seems the cheapest and easiest solution as previously MENTIONED. Quote

Do you have a CDR burner? 3 or 4 CDRs should hold it all with compression and without using WinRAR.
