Solve : Images won't automatically download from digital c? |
|
Answer» I've taken some photographs on my digital camera and want to download them to my pc. When I first attached the camera to the USB lead XP detected the new hardware, but it doesn't bring up the box asking if you WOULD like to either copy the images, view as a slideshow, explore the contents etc. mrip.......Is the camera you use at work exactly the same as yours and is that system using exactly the same software as you have installed on your home pc ? Well the cameras I use both at home and at work are all Fujifilm FinePix Cameras, but all different models. The one I now use at work is brand new, having replaced a model I'd been using for about 2 years. Both of them, as soon as you plug the camera to the USB and turn it on brought up the the box with your options to download/view as a slideshow etc. Now the camera I use at home is only just over a year old, essentially it uses the same software as both the cameras I've used at work and both my pc at work and at home both use Windows XP. It is really bugging me, because if I insert a CD or DVD into my DVD drive it does bring this box up asking me what I want to do with what I've just put into the drive. I think this could be just a case of configuring how my pc deals what is suppose to do when the camera is connected to it for download. I await your thoughts. mrip.....It sounds to me as if you are refering to three differant cameras .....2 at work and 1 at home ....All made by Fuji .....but differant models. Then you say the software is " essentially the same " the question is , is it the same ......( That I dont know ) "It is really bugging me, because if I insert a CD or DVD into my DVD drive it does bring this box up asking me what I want to do with what I've just put into the drive. I think this could be just a case of configuring how my pc deals what is suppose to do when the camera is connected to it for download. " You may have answered your question .... you say the box opens asking you what you wish to do .......that sounds ok .....what happens when you answer that ? I am quessing that you wish to burn a cd using the images you have transfered to your HARD drive ..... Is it possible that there is differant burning software on the pc at work than you have at home ..... Remember that if both your work pc and your home pc has "exactly " the same software ( with respect to the TRANSFERING and burning images ) and it is configured "exactly" the same way ......then they should work the same way ......If anything is differant ......then they may not work the same way ....
