Solve : Illegal windows x-p keys being sold in my area !!?

Answer»

Hey everyone ...

I was just wondering how i would go about reporting someone selling illegal windows x-p serials , because when i went to my local market i bought the original windows x-p disc it wasn't in a box or anything it was in a anti-static bag he wrote down a windows x-p serial on a plain piece of A4 paper and he kept stressing to me it was a geniue key and i hadn't even asked so he seemed nervous about something , i didn't need one as my original key is on my Old h-p computer i just assumed the key is built into the price of the windows x-p package so i went along with it .... this market SALESMEN had also ripped me of with a failed hard drive i have claimed on the warranty and i can expect a new one in 3 or 4 days ... but we all know thats not the point.... usually i wouldn't be to bothered about this .... but has done 2 illegal sales to myself ....... and he tried convincing that my motherboard isn't very good i  know it ain't great but its  not as bad as he made out ... this sales men is a totally different person to who last ripped me off... i just cant seem to win..... i learn how to install hardware myself and then i end up getting cheap knocked off hardware ..... he seemed geniue at the TIME but now hes noting more than a crook and i think its about time trading standards payed him a visit but first i want to report him to Microsoft ......how would i go about doing that..... oh and another thing ..... when i went back there the 1st thing he said was DID THE WINDOWS X-P KEY NOT WORK ...... i will let you guys be the judge of this fellow.....

Email [email protected] and tell them about it.
They used to (maybe 3 years ago or so) offer a £50 reward for reporting piracy.
So I RUSHED to find it when I found someone selling pirated copies of about 20 programs, but they didn't offer a reward.
They don't give me anything, I don't give them anything . . . Quote from: Calum on July 30, 2007, 04:05:39 AM

Not for everyone ELSE though, you understand.
Do as I say, not as I do - always report piracy to Uncle Billy.yes well i think you may as well report it to the piracy department there, because it will be checked out anyway.
if you're unsure about it, then they'll find out when they check it out.
if he's guilty, he's gone.. if he's not, then so be it. you tried to help, and you can't get in trouble for it. especially if he seemed dodgy.
good luck with it Tony, i'm sure you'll do the right thing, regardless of rewards.May want to also visit the below LINK. In addition to the e-mail mentioned above it also lists the piracy phone number and links to the online form.

http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/reporting/default.aspxDang, whenever I read this topic while scrolling down the list, it makes me think it's spam. (Topic is like an ad or something)

BTW, I know to report. I was just joking.

EDIT: My Aunt used to pirate XP. Now she's getting a legit box (I know, I'm helping her set it up), so I don't think I'll report her...Arr, make the scurvy dog walk the plank! Quote from: Dilbert on July 30, 2007, 02:42:01 PM
