Answer»

someone help i tried to speed up my computer by disabling services but forgot to hide mircosoft FILES services now computer boots in safe mode and alot of my services are stopped tried to restore nothing helps dont know what to do cant find my installation cd please help meDON'T MESS WITH ANYTHING YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!

Go to Black Viper's web site (http://www.blackviper.com/sitemap/). Look up the default service settings for your operating system. Boot to safe mode, make the changes, reboot.

In the future, if you use disc imaging software on a regular basis you won't have to worry about SCREWING up anything. You'll always have a safe haven to which you can return.problem is i can do anything in safe mode i try to restart services and i cant in safe mode

Yes you can...in safemode in the Start/search bar type in services .msc and hit Enter.patio thanks for helping but no services will not start in safe mode services msc went to recovery put re start restart then restart computer action stops with errors check i did enable services in diagonstic and could start services but when i restarted still going to safe mode pinike63 - your posts are impossible to decipher. PLEASE use punctuation.okay i did go to services msc. i can change the services back to start some of them, but when i go to reboot the computer goes to safe mode and services are stopped. my computer is letting me get on with safe mode with networking.
but i cannot get services to work no matter what. im going crazy trying to fix it because my son has sat coming up he needs the ability to work on computer.
i dont have install disc from dell so im wondering isnt there a back door to bring computer back to factory settings. i dont care if i need to start over just need the darn thing to work properly. please help me save my sanity thanks so much open msconfig and make SURE it isn't set to boot to safe mode.I believe the issue is that you made those changes using Task Manager therefore they revert to whatever you did upon each re-boot...
Here is a tool that REVERTS everything back to original settings:
Here YA Go...

NOTE: If this does not do it for you i'm afraid your next option would be to run a Repair Install...so let us know how it goes.

P.S. In future don't let this "Expert" work on the PC anymore...thanks allan okay yes msconfig boot safe mode, so what will i do next i dont want to break anything else . you are a sweetheart for helping me out.thanks patio if i cant fix from allan's info then i will use the web site you posted.your so kind thanks a million i will not be working on any more computers.I'm not discouraging from doing so at all...but i thought you had stated it was someone else that made the changes...Just uncheck "boot to safe mode" in msconfig and reboot.
