::)first my i say i have really enjoyed wondering thru this site. you guys are great. my problem is this i am running ms win xp, media center edition, version 2002, service pack 2, on a TOSHIBA satelite intel core 2 cpu t5500 2gb. i have noticed that i do not display all the buttons, colors, panels, etc. on web pages. this wouldn't be such a big deal except i recently purchased SOFTWARE for designing a website and when i use the preview function which takes me on line i don't see all of my work so i'm not sure how it looks. i have tried to do some troubleshooting. i've downloaded the last java version 6 update 5 and adobe FLASHPLAYER 9.0.124.0. i've installed, uninstalled, installed, uninstalled, you get the drift. i've gone to the websites for their suggestions tried no success. my server. i've run cclean i've disabled mcafee (which i'm going to get rid of after reading posts o this site. had a bad feeling about that decision when i made it) tried turning things off and on and then going back to defaults, i've rebooted after changes, sooooo what to do next.

thank you in advanceWhat browser are you USING when you notice items missing from web pages? If it happens with Internet Explorer, try Fire Fox. (Or vice versa.) If it looks fine with Fire Fox, then he problem is probably IE related.

Do you notice the missing items in web pages in all user profiles or just the one you use most often? It is also POSSIBLE there is corruption within the user profile. we use internet explorer. i did pull up firefox and the home page actually looks worse. we only have one user profile (this is my husbands computer) would you mine pointing me in the direction i need to go in his profile to check the settings?Try creating new profile: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151i am soooo doing the happy dance right now. it only took me 4 days ( i didn't find you guys until night before last ). anyway thank you very much. this is like a whole new computer experience.

thanks againjust one more question. since i have deleted a few things and messed around with a few others i feel like i should run cclean one more time and defrag. but i hesitate because things are finally running correctly. should i do either of these? it would be nice to have my computer as clean as possible after all of this.I'm happy, things worked out for you
CCleaner, and defrag won't hurt.
