Solve : I moved my computer and now it won't work!?

Answer»

I just moved my computer from the basement to the kitchen and when I plugged everything back in its doesnt work. Ive triple checked to make sure everything so plugged into the right place but all I get is the TOWER fan running on HIGH and a really fast beep. Monitor says its in analog SLEEP mode. Help?!?Probably knocked something loose, reseat the RAM and expansion cards. The monitor is not getting a signal, so the messages beind displayed (analog sleep mode) shouldn't be anything to worry about.  If you did move it, as long as you didn't bang at against anything too hard or drop it, you should be able to get it working again.  I agree something probably did come LOSE.  If you are comfortable doing so, I would open up the SIDE, and make sure everything is pressed firmly into position (cables, memory, anything that is in a slot.)  You may also want to check for any excess dust, and see if you can blow it out as sometimes that can cause issues.

These are a few simple things you can try that may work.  I know you can do some basic troubleshooting with it, but it would involve taking parts out and testing one part at a time.  This isn't too difficult, but if you don't know what you are doing, you may damage something.  It may be worth having someone look at it.In the vien of Raptor's suggestion it can be a result of a loose connection from the monitor to the computer or your video card has become loose. What type of mouse are you using?truenorth
