Solve : I hope someone can give me some help!?

Answer»

:-?All right, I really need some help.  my computer turns on, but the mouse, keyboard and monitor don't work.  the moniter turns on but isn't getting any feedback from the computer.  when i turn the computer on the mouse( an optical.) flashes and the keyboard lights (num, caps, and scroll LOCK lights.) flash, but after that nothing.  i have checked all the connections and everything is connected properly.  I have reset the computer multiple times but always the same thing.  I really hope somebody has a solution or at least some suggestions that could work.  Please help me!! More info on your machine. OS and what happened prior to this and the cavalry will be along shortly....

What patio said. :-?And now Wayne has gone MIA.  Maybe he's gone Noodlin' that's where PeckerWood is at. :-?

Sorry for lack of info, I was kinda freakin' out, but as far as os goes it is a windows xp sp2, and before this happened i had pushed the sleep button on the keyboard and it went to standby,  and then it wouldn't wake up, so i restarted it and the tower was working fine i guess (the light went on and the disk tray is fully operational) but the moniter, as i said before, was just sitting there as if the computer didnt even go on.  same with mouse and keyboard. I restarted it multiple times via the power button and always the same!!  once though it actually went to the black screen displaying system info (where it says press F1 to comtinue, or press Del. to enter setup. ) but for some reason the keyboard wasn't working at all. so i had no other option but to restart and try again, and again, and again..... I have no idea what is going on and I am sorry for going "MIA"  but i am busy durring the day and this is the first chance i got to return here. if there is anything else you need to know just tell me Quote

dl65  Power down the machine. Disconnect any unneccessary USB devices. Borrow a PS2 keyboard and mouse if possible and plug them in. Power up...does the machine now start properly ? ?

If so add one device at a TIME with a re-boot in between each to help track down the culprit.

Are the keyboard and mouse wireless by chance ? ?Hello,wayne425.I am sorry I got to you.I was only joking.

I have an offbeat sense of humor that sometimes comes
back and bites me.

I hope you are able to solve your problem. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

RobertI tried PS2 mouse and keyboard (the keyboard was always PS2 but i tried a different one anyway.) I tried rebooting and still nothing.  aww well.  by the way Street1 I was just kidding. Quote

Did you try the above with all USB devices removed as suggested ? ?

Have you checked Device Manager for any broken devices ? ?

Can you do a system restore to before the problem ? ?
