Answer» hello, out there and thank you in advance for your help. i tried to set up a d-link dir655 wireless router to my hn7000s modem on my satellite and had no luck after three days and quit.. brought it home to my apt. and hooked it up in minutes with my cable. question is: what is the simplest way to go. i have an older DELL running xp pro. i do not have sp 3 installed HOWEVER. i don't know if that is an issue.. now remember that i NEED to be led by the hand in order to follow instructions.. TRY this-> http://blogs.oracle.com/simonthorpe/2009/06/configuring_a_dlink_dir_655_as.htmlthank you again for your reply. however, i have my d-link dir 655 already hooked up in my apartment and i'm looking for another wireless router that will not give me so much trouble.. by the way, my satellite is at another location where it is a stand alone system. if someone can suggest a wireless router and how to configure it to the hughes. net hn7000s, i would greatly appreciate it. Check the Hughes site to dee if they have an Approved Vender list for wireless modems...not going to work that way, but, i did find out one thing. after a little research i FOUND out that i needed to have sp3 installed in my computer for installation of a wireless router which i do not because it would not take.. so i am learning how to deal with that first and then i will buy a new wireless router.
i guess my next question would be what type router works best with the hn7000s modem. considering how slow hughes is, 1.0 Mbps/200 Kbps is maximum download/upload speed.. so i'm guessing an appropriate sized router is what i should be looking for.. any suggestions? thanx, bob
