Solve : HP printer and/or software problem? |
|
Answer» I have a HP 2175 PSC printer attached to a new HP Pavillion Intel Q6600 Quad with 3gb memory and Vista Home Premium. After hooking up the printer and installing the software we wind up with a printing program that will not scan into the computer. On the old XP it INSTALLED with a program called "HP Director" for the scanning mode. Can't find this program installed anywhere on my computer, even though I installed it from the PSC disk that came with printer. After hooking up the printer and installing the softwareUsually, it goes the other way - you install software, first. Did you FOLLOW manual?Quote from: Broni on April 19, 2008, 06:13:42 PM QuoteAfter hooking up the printer and installing the softwareUsually, it goes the other way - you install software, first. Did you follow manual? Followed the manual as always. I have done other installs with HP with no problems. Thinking about this, though, I'm wondering if this is compatible with Vista and the REASON it's not installing. There is no need to download anything . Follow the steps below to quickly and easily get your product working with Windows Vista. Does it print test page, or just scanner function doesn't work? When we first tried to install, it installed from within the computer as you SUGGESTED. But the HP Director did not go in from either the internet nor from the CD that came with the printer. HAROLDGo Start, and in Start search type in: services.msc Hit Enter. Services window will open. Scroll down to: Windows Image Acquisition service. Make sure it's set to Automatic. If it's not, do so, and restart computer.i think Broni hit the nail on the head. I didnt even think of suggesting that. You guys must have had many priter complaints b4 |
